What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate and all variations upon that theme. Although--I nice hand made hazelnut goes down wonderfully. Oh and Tin Roof with CHOCOLATE covered peanuts.
Who taught you how to ride a bike?
My dad when I was six or seven. I learned on a volcanic rock gravel road in Flagstaff, Arizona. I learned quick, aftr picking gravel out of my knees and elbows, NOT to fall down. I LOVED my first bike. It's was a boys bike, but it was GOLD. Being the Cyndi Lauper wanna be that I was I was all into the glitz and glam. You could take the pink and white banana seat bike with a cheap platic basket. I HAD a golden bike...I was a princess!
I eventually got that pink and white bike, but I barely remember it.
My second favourite bike was the one I had a teen. It was blue and it had three speeds. Just enough--a 10 speed is just confusing. It also had a headlight that was powered by the spinning of the front wheel. I don't know what happened to that bike. I miss that bike. It was perfect.
How do you beat writer's block?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
Every year I enter Nanowrimo in November...I have yet to finish. Although this year I did get over a 1,000 words. The first year I tried to combat my writers block by creating a blog just for it...I called it Writer's BLOCK. It didn't really help. I also try music--that gets my creative juices flowing.
I've been battling writer's block for over 6 years. Ever since my friends and I wrote our infamous (in our own circle) An Sceal based on not so real life adventures of rock stars. It was a work of genius, but things started coming true and naturally we freaked out. AND I haven't been able to write anything decent since then.
I guess I am terrified of my "power" laughable as that is. If I write something negative will it happen and I can't just write nice stuff because that's boring.
In which fictional world/universe/land/city would you most like to live?
Submitted by glenn is the new chuck.
Pern from Anne McCaffery's Dragonrider series. Although right now I am re-reading Lord of the Rings and so I am having dreams of Lothlorien too. But Pern has been a long time favourite of mine.
How many bones have you broken? Yours or someone else's?
I did a fantastic impression of Superman when I flew over the handle bars of my bike--fracturing my wrist. I also got a neat little scar on my chin from a teeny pebble that helped cushion my landing.
As for anyone else--just stitches.
How did you meet your current, or most recent, significant other?
I met my husband at the deli counter at my local grocery store. My best friend was his co-worker and fixed us up. In fact she and I engineered our first date--which technically he's still on--I never let him leave.
Amazing when you're not looking for it-true love comes your way and sometimes you're too stupid to see it so God has to smacxk you up side the head with a two by four.
We know you never slack off at work, but if you did, what would you do?
Back when I worked for Citibank (if this was Middle Earth they would be Sauron--I felt like a traitor the entire two years worked there), I found a Easter Egg via Microsoft Word that allowed me to play Pinball. For the life of me I can't remember what the code is to get to the easter egg.
Now that I am a stay at home parent my days should be filled with cleaning, cooking and childcare--keyword should--when I slack off it's either to knit or read. Mostly knit, much to the dismay of my husband.
What's the most obsessive-compulsive thing you do in a normal day?
Submitted by Nikki.
Hmmm, I always drink a mug of hot chocolate every morning--through the winter and the summer.
And when I shower I always wash my hair, soap the bod, rinse, then condition my hair, shave the hairy places that oughtn't be hairy on a girl, and wash my face, then rinse. Always in that order--without fail.
Okay, we hate to ask, but... over the roll or under the roll?
Always, always over the roll. That is the only way it should be done.
If I am at your house--I will change it--it just drives me nuts. Besides, how else can you make those neat little folds on the roll for your guests to enjoy?
What is your favorite ring tone?
Submitted by rach.
I love the ring tone my husband picked for calls coming from home (me): Flight of the Bumblebees. Not only does it refer to bees (which I love, collect and use as my nickname "B.") but it's crazy chaotic tune seems to sum me up just fine.
And for the record: I have yet to own cell phone of my very own. My husband had one for two years when we first got met/married and cancelled it because of the expense and hassle and now just got one for himself for Christmas (already used 13 hours in 9 days! Thank God we have an unlimited minutes plan). As for me, I think I am one of the last people in the industrialised world NOT to own a cell phone. I heard on The Tonight Show a homeless man had a cell phone. I don't care too much, since I really don't need a cell phone.
