QotD: Chez Me

If you could open a restaurant, any kind you want, what would it look like and what's on the menu?

I am by no means a cultured diner, so excuse my crazy ideas.

Having kids and having food issues makes it tricky to find a restaurant I am 100% happy with.  And I am always giving Jamey lists of if I was doing it this is what I would do.  Firstly, I would turn UP the lights--at least around the individual tables.  I hate eating in the dark-I want to be able to see what I am eating.  Secondly, I would have a fun kid area.  We eat at McDonalds or Chick-Fil-A or Cici's all the time because they have a little room for the kids to go and amuse themselves while we snatch ourselves some dinner.  I would love to go to a nice sit down casual restaurant with wait staff that also had a Play Place.  As for food--hmmm lot's of steak and pasta and sauces...I would love a mix and match menu.  Did you know Alfredo tastes DELICIOUS on steak?

So if I had the money and the skill--I would open a place for the family.  I would have the option of separate dining tables for each party or have one long big table for a bunch of people to meet and greet.  It would be well lit at the tables--so dinners can SEE the food they are eating.  There would be a long glass window at one end with a view in the giant kids play area...with intercom buttons at the tables so you can yell at your kids if need be.  I would serve a mix and match mens with a variety of pasta and sauces and several different cuts of steak.  Oh and root beer I would serve several different brands of root beers.  I would serve fantastic baked potatoes all day long and always have warm bread and soft butter at the tables.  For my husband they will always have the option for having a giant pitcher of iced tea at the table--always full.

I would call it Birdy's.
